A WOMAN’S ORGASM
Physical response How long orgasmic contractions last, their level of intensity and the space between them, varies from woman to woman and from one orgasm to another. Some women experience a high peak of pleasure that fades away rapidly, while others feel orgasm as a more widespread, warm, internal sensation; some arrive at a peak, which subsides gradually into a series of pleasurable plateaus.
In response to orgasm, a woman may arch her body, tense her muscles, and her face may be pulled into a grimace. She may scream, cry out, or bite her lips. Alternatively, she may be silent and you may simply observe a quickening of excitement, feel some involuntary hip movements, muscle contractions in the genital area, and a general release of tension as the orgasm subsides.
Types Masters and Johnson declared categorically that the female orgasm originates in the clitoris and that there is not a second kind of orgasm that originates in the vagina. Research into the personal experience of many women does, however, suggest at the very least, that there is a type of orgasm that starts in the clitoris and spreads down into the vagina resulting in a more powerful climax than when the orgasm involves the clitoris alone. This kind of orgasm is said to result from stimulation of the “G” spot and is reputed to be a deep, powerful, prolonged sensation that is accompanied by contractions of the vagina, uterus and pelvic organs. Women state that it is truly transporting and brings them in closer union with their partners than any other.
Multiple orgasm A major difference between the sexes is that many more women are capable of experiencing more than one orgasm during a single sexual act. By holding back from the brink or preventing themselves from ever reaching orgasm, men should be able to prolong coitus and give more than one orgasm to their partners. Instead of moving to the resolution stage, those women able to have multiple orgasms remain at the plateau phase in a highly aroused state, and from there they can be stimulated to orgasm quickly and repeatedly.
After orgasm, women are less prone to the slightly depressed feelings that men often experience, and the majority welcome further loving attentions from their partners. A very few women experience a drifting into a mild form of unconsciousness, poetically known as the “little death”, after orgasm.
